4. App Permissions
The QRBell Android application may request certain device permissions to provide its features. Each permission is used only for the purpose described below.
Camera — Required
Used during live video calls with visitors and to scan QR codes within the app. No images or video are intentionally stored.
Microphone — Required
Used during live audio and video calls with visitors. Audio is transmitted in real time and is not intentionally recorded or stored.

Used to display incoming visitor call alerts and service-related notifications.
Internet / Network Access — Required
Required for core QRBell functionality, including account access, communication, notifications, and other online services.

May be used to maintain necessary app functionality and call-related services when the app is running in the background or the device state changes.

Used to provide vibration alerts for incoming visitor calls and notifications.
Location — Optional
Used only when you explicitly choose to associate your current location with a QR code. QRBell does not continuously track your location in the background.

Audio Devices — Optional
QRBell may use connected audio devices, such as headphones or earphones, during calls to provide audio functionality.
You can grant or revoke applicable permissions at any time through your device settings. Revoking a required permission may prevent the associated QRBell functionality from working.
5. QR Code Data Handling
QR codes are an essential part of how QRBell connects visitors with account holders.
Each QR code is associated with an account and contains information necessary to identify the QR code and provide the relevant QRBell service. QR codes may also be associated with optional information such as a location or label provided by the account holder.
We may collect and process information related to QR code activity, including information about when a QR code is accessed or scanned. This information may be used to provide call functionality, maintain call history, improve the service, prevent misuse, and maintain security.
Any optional location or other descriptive information associated with a QR code can be managed by the account holder through the QRBell service.
Privacy: Your personal contact information, such as your phone number and email address, is not displayed to visitors through the QR code. Visitors interact with QRBell through the visitor-facing interface without being given direct access to your private account information.
6. Partner, Customer, and User Information
QRBell serves different types of users, and the information we collect may vary depending on how you use the service.
Partners (Account Owners)
Partners are users who create an account, manage one or more QR codes, and may receive calls from visitors. We may collect:
- Phone number used for account registration and verification
- Full name and, where provided, email address
- Information provided through optional third-party sign-in services
- QR code and account configuration information
- Call-related information and account activity
- Subscription and payment-related information
- Family member information added to the account
- Profile information, such as a profile photo, if provided
Customers / Visitors
Visitors are individuals who scan a Partner's QR code to interact with QRBell. Visitors may use QRBell without creating an account or installing the app.
Depending on the features used and permissions granted, we may collect:
- Technical information such as IP address, browser type, and device-related information
- Information related to the QR code or link that was accessed
- Approximate or precise location information, where the visitor voluntarily grants permission through their device or browser
- Information generated during an active audio or video call
- Other information necessary to provide the requested service, prevent abuse, and maintain security
Visitor information is not used for advertising purposes by QRBell.
Family Members
Partners may add family members to their account and provide them with certain access or permissions. Depending on how the family member uses QRBell, we may collect:
- Name and relationship information provided by the account owner
- Phone number and email address, where provided
- Account and authentication information
- Permissions and access settings assigned by the account owner
- Information generated through their use of QRBell
- We collect and use this information only as reasonably necessary to provide QRBell's services, maintain security, support users, and comply with applicable legal requirements.
7. Family Members & Account Features
Family members with a registered phone number may log in to the QRBell app using OTP verification and access any accounts they have been added to. A single phone number may be linked to multiple accounts (for example, a home account and family accounts from other homes); switching between accounts grants access to the call history and QR codes associated with that account.
- Family member login — a family member can independently log in to the QRBell app using their own phone number and OTP, without requiring the account owner to be present
- Multi-account access — a single phone number may be linked to more than one account; the user can switch between accounts within the app
- Scoped access on switch — switching to a different account grants access only to the call history and QR codes belonging to that account; data from other accounts remains separate
8. Camera and Microphone Access
QRBell may request access to your device's camera and microphone to provide certain app features.
- Video and Audio Calls: Camera and microphone access may be used during an active call with a visitor who has scanned your QR code. Calls are transmitted in real time, and we do not intentionally record or store call audio or video.
- QR Code Scanning: Camera access may be used to scan QR codes within the app. QR code scanning is performed for the purpose of providing QRBell's functionality, and we do not intentionally store or retain camera images or video captured for scanning.
QRBell may use trusted third-party service providers to support real-time communication and other related functionality. Such providers may process information as necessary to provide their services.
You can grant or revoke camera and microphone permissions at any time through your device settings. Revoking camera permission may prevent video calling and QR code scanning from functioning. Revoking microphone permission may prevent audio calling from functioning.
9. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
We may use trusted third-party service providers to help us operate, maintain, secure, and improve QRBell. These providers may process limited information on our behalf and are required to handle such information in accordance with applicable laws and their respective privacy policies.
We may also share information:
- Legal Compliance: When required by applicable law, regulation, court order, or government authority.
- Safety and Security: When reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, safety, or security of QRBell, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of all or part of our business. Where required, affected users will be provided appropriate notice.
We may use third-party services for purposes such as authentication, notifications, communications, payment processing, analytics, cloud storage, security, and application reliability.
Your phone number is not publicly displayed to visitors who scan your QR code. Visitors interact with your QR link without being given direct access to your phone number or other private account information.
Third-party service providers process information only as necessary to provide their respective services to QRBell and are subject to applicable privacy and data protection requirements.
10. Push Notifications
QRBell may use third-party notification services to deliver push notifications, including alerts when a visitor interacts with your QR code or initiates a call.
You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings. Disabling notifications may prevent you from receiving incoming call or other QRBell alerts while the app is running in the background.
11. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and maintain QRBell, comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and protect the security of our services.
The length of time we retain information may vary depending on the type of information, how it is used, and applicable legal requirements.
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where certain information must be retained to comply with legal, regulatory, security, or other legitimate requirements.
Some information may also remain in secure backups for a limited period before being permanently removed in accordance with our normal backup and deletion processes.
12. Data Security
We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
We use a combination of technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards to protect information transmitted to and stored by QRBell. These measures may include encryption, access controls, secure authentication mechanisms, and other security practices appropriate to the nature of the information we process.
We also work with trusted third-party service providers that maintain their own security measures and safeguards when providing services to QRBell.
While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission, storage, or security system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
We encourage you to keep the QRBell app and your device updated and to use appropriate security measures for your account and device.

16. Children's Privacy
QRBell is intended for users aged 13 and older. The app requires a mobile phone number and OTP verification to register, which we consider sufficient to limit use by very young children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Display an in-app notice or send a notification where appropriate
- Where required by law, seek your consent before implementing the changes
